About Lino Tagliapietra
Hailed as the greatest living glass artist, Tagliapietra has played a crucial role as master craftsperson and educator within the international contemporary Studio Glass Movement. Born in Venice and starting his working life in a local glass factory at the age of twelve, Tagliapietra became the youngest ever Maestro (Master) at the age of 21 at the prestigious Venini Factory.
He is responsible for the contemporary Venetian wave that has been the dominant international style in glass for the past 25 years. Today, after a career spanning 60 years, he has an extensive solo museum exhibition record and is held in over 30 major museum collections around the world.
