Canberra Glassworks is pleased to offer the following classes for adults(18+) as a part of its Summer Education Program 2010. GLASS BLOWING Start with the basics and experience the drama of working with hot glass! Learn how to gather from the furnace and how to shape and blow it using a variety of processes. We will start at the very beginning, making bubbles, wobbly cups and vases. Refine these skills in the Ongoing workshop, and start to really get a feel for the glass.
Glass blowing basics $480 Feb. 6 & 7 weekend 10am-1pm Mar. 3 & 4 weekend 10am-1pm CGW 1040 This class is run over four sessions. Students
will learn from professional artists in the hot shop of Canberra Glassworks
state-of-the-art facilities. Through demonstration and instruction, students
will learn the basics of blowing and shaping glass in its molten state. They
will then create simple glass objects, such as colourful paperweights,
caterpillars or flowers, free-form sculpture, and vessels. Students will be
encouraged to work in teams as well as receiving one-on-one instruction. Sign
up to experience the magic of molten glass! No glassblowing experience
is required.
Short and sweet; this three hour "sculpture in a cup"
kid's class will delight all.Kids
will sculpt clay that they will then learn how to make into a 3D glass object
