Visitor Information

 

Canberra Glassworks is located at 11 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston ACT.  It is open from 10am to 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday. Canberra Glassworks is closed Good Friday.

Entry to the Canberra Glassworks is by donation and free guided tours are run each Saturday and Sunday at 11am. Charges apply to workshops, special guided tours and special events.

There is no booking required to visit, however, bookings for Off-the-Street glassmaking sessions or any classes are recommended and sometimes necessary.

Visitors will be able to view gallery exhibitions, visit the shop and café, take an un-guided tour of the public areas (including the Hotshop and Workshop) and talk to Glassworks staff.  Young visitors to the Glassworks can hunt for the clues in our Lightbulb Moments or purchase a Passport to the Past for just $5 at the front desk and tour the building stamping your passport along the way.

Large tour groups, and visitors who wish to see the whole facility (including special heritage features) and be guaranteed of glassmaking demonstrations are required to book a tour. A modest fee is charged for these guided tours.

Parking

Park where you would normally park for the Old Bus Depot Markets:

Parking may be a little tighter on Sundays due to the Old Bus Depot Markets.

Public Transport

Bus routes 38 and 80 from Civic and bus routes 38 and 80 from Woden run half-hourly on weekdays, and hourly on Saturday and Sunday, and stop on Wentworth Avenue outside the Canberra Glassworks.
