A free community celebration of glass at Canberra Glassworks from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday 17 June 2017.



Winter Glass Market Stalls

Black Forest Fairy Grotto

Story Teller 12 noon - 6pm, Black Forest to 8pmWander through our Black Forest to a fairy grotto where a story teller awaits to share tales with you. On the way you will find a range of beautiful handcrafted glass forest forms and creatures for sale

Viking Bead Furnace

12 noon to 8pmCome along and warm yourselves by the bead furnace, as artist Sui Jackson helps you create glass beads the way the Vikings and Romans did.

Bringing Huldra to Life

12 noon to 8pmPeter Nilsson will be engraving The Huldra to life in a giant glass engraving throughout the day. The finished work, valued at $11,000, will be raffled on the day with only 200 tickets available at $15 each.

Winter Lighting

12 noon to 8pmArtist Brian Corr has teamed up with lighting designer Justin Watson to create a sensational wintery lighting design on our historic building, with support from Nova Multimedia.

Midwinter Megalo Mingle

2 to 5pmMegalo will present its Mid-Winter Mingle and Member’s Show + a Megan, Min tian jian. Feel free to stop by for a warming mulled wine and view the exhibition, EXQUISITE CORPSE.

Food and drinks

12 noon to 8pmDelicious European winter food, anything from goulash to paella, will be available for purchase throughout the day from local vendors including Pialligo Estate, Molto Italian, and Cafe 38 Espresso.

Snowflake Mandala

12 noon to 8pmCreate giant snowflakes with white pebbles in the grey stone landscape outside the Fitters Workshop.
